The Vampire Diaries Music: "The Turning Point"

This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries really did mark a turning point for many characters, with great music adding to the exciting developments throughout.

We encourage fans to read through our Round Table of "The Turning Point" and to discuss the events of the show's last episode (unfortunately) until January.

White Collar Review: "The Portrait"

We finally get to see and hear Kate interact with Neal - and it definitely made this episode worth it. Surprisingly enough, there are more clues to what she is trying to say. This time, she actually uses her voice - which means Neal must be getting closer to figuring it all out..esp. about who the guy with the pinkie ring is.

It bothers me to no end the "cat and mouse" game Neal and Kate are playing. I guess it's good for ratings, but C'mon! Enough is enough already. I am sure White Collar will drag this story line out for the rest of the season.

Yet, there was a couple really funny parts to this week's episode, "The Portrait". For one, anything involving Peter and women - makes it very humorously awkward. He is a handsome looking man, but when it comes to being hot and sexy, he can't foot the bill. Neal on the other hand...yeah, he should be taking Don Juan DeMarco lessons from him.

What we are really interested in seeing is some hot sex scene's with Elizabeth and Burke. That is one aspect of this awesome show they have left to the viewers imagination. We know Elizabeth has it in her - what with all her post experience in 90210!

Neal being the jack of all trades is also a little far fetched - do we really believe that someone That good-looking, is that smart and talented to paint an exact replica of the painting? Be serious please. They should have left the artistic talents to Mozzie.

This week kept us ever amused and also intrigued to see what happens with the whole Kate storyline. Let us know your thoughts on this weeks episode.

James Remar Cast as Giuseppe Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries

There must be something about blood that attracts actor James Remar.

He's currently seen on Dexter (below), dispensing advice to his murderous son.

Now, Remar has been cast in a key role on The Vampire Diaries: he'll start filming scenes early next month as Giuseppe Salvatore, Damon and Stefan's father.

In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, Remar described the character as "an aristocrat in the 1860's of Italian decent." He'll be featured in a flashback episode set to air when the show returns in early 2010.

The Ghost Whisperer Review: "Lost in the Shadows"

Melinda's personal life is the main focus on this week's episode, "Lost in the Shadows". Aiden has the ability not only to see and speak to ghosts, but also the ability to see the Shadows.

Julia Miller is a little girl who recently died of leukemia. What is it with ghost children that give us the Hebe jeebies? I'd take a Michael Myers over this scary little girl any day.

Julia practically kidnaps Aiden to go to an abandoned train station. She gives us the insight that ghosts have feelings too and are very much afraid of the Shadows. But, who wouldn't be? What are the Shadows anyway? Do they represent daemons in hell? Too much to be uncovered still.

It is wonderful to find out that the Shinings are working on the "good" side. The fact that they are the reason Jim and Melinda were able to find Aiden in the first place only confirms their good intentions. We're already making Team Shining shirts now!

One part of this show that never ceases to amaze us is the clothing - err - lack of clothing Melinda wears. Did anyone else find it amusing to see her running about the house in that night gown? You're telling me after five years of marriage - with a child - she sleeps in a getup that looks like it belongs in the Southern romance novels? That's just great!

All in all we learn a lot more about the Shadows and the Shinings. Is it a fight between good and evil? Is the light really the final resting place for all ghosts? Please let us know your thoughts!

The Vampire Diaries Round Table: "The Turning Point"

Every week, The Vampire Diaries gets better and better. Certain mysteries are solved, new ones are presented, and we grow more and more addicted to these vampires and humans.

Our review of "The Turning Point" touched on several key questions that arose last night. Now our panel has assembled for a Round Table discussion of events on the new hit series.

Who did Elena hit with the car? Why did she freak at the picture? Is Tyler a werewolf? Discuss these issues and more in our Vampire Diaries forum, as we tackle them below...

1. Did Elena overreact at the Katherine picture?

The Barnacle: No. Look at it from E's perspective. She was about to exchange bodily fluids (and we're not talkin' about blood) with a 162-year-old vampire who still pines for his vampire ex, who she may or may not be connected to somehow. It's a tad weird.

Dr. Shepherd: Yes, and it was heartbreaking. All I want is for them to be together, and they keep being torn apart. When Elena left, I felt so terrible for Stefan.

M.L. House: Yes. Did you see Stefan with his shirt off?!? So what if he's only into you because you resemble his ex-girlfriend?!? Come on. All that matters is that a guy with those muscles is (literally) into you at all!

2. Is Tyler a werewolf?

The Barnacle: That's gotta be why his father wanted him to fight Jeremy so bad, which just seems ridiculous otherwise. What I want to know is whether Tyler knows or not.

Dr. Shepherd: Zzz. Sorry, Tyler. The only werewolf I have eyes for in about four hours is Taylor Lautner. Shirtless, no less. Talk to us when you've got a six-pack like that, Ty.

M.L. House: The episode sure did imply that, didn't it? But how can he not be aware of that? Don't werewolves also live forever? I can't wait until January 14 to learn more!

3. Who did Elena run into on the road?

The Barnacle: I just assumed she gets abducted by Damon after this, but is that too obvious? That might be the point ... I bet it's someone we'd never expect or don't know yet.

Dr. Shepherd: It's gotta be Damon. Right? It was foreshadowed after his efforts to bring Katherine back were dashed (indirectly) by Logan's death. He must have lost it.

M.L. House: Tyler. Picking up on the previous question: it was a full moon, right? Perhaps Tyler forgets about his actions when he wakes up the following day, but he clearly causes major havoc under certain circumstances. From what we saw earlier in the night, it makes sense he'd be ripping $hit up any time a full moon hangs overheard.

4. How will you spend Thursday nights until The Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes?

The Barnacle: Trying to recruit a local vampire to travel to Mystic Falls and eat Matt, at which point I'll swoop in and comfort Caroline, and she will be mine. ALL MINE!

Dr. Shepherd: Forget Thursdays. I'll watch every episode again in the all-week marathon starting December 14. All Vampire Diaries, every night. Great idea, CW!

M.L. House: Hugging my Damon bobblehead doll and trying to make vervain from scratch.

All My Children Spoilers: November 23-25

Private Practice Review: "Sins of the Father"

After an episode last week that felt a little over-dramatic and hokey at times, Private Practice returned to form last night. Also returning? The Captain. Addison's dad.

She was clearly shaken by the unwelcome arrival of her father, but Cooper was in even more dire straits after being arrested when he refuses to cooperate in a case.

Meanwhile, Pete fought to keep a terminally ill patient alive long enough for him to meet his new daughter. Addison, Pete and Cooper all really shined last night.

If you missed "Sins of the Father," follow the link for our recap. Now, a look at the major developments that took place and why we felt they worked so well (or didn't) ...

Aye, Captain: Addison is a rich trust fund brat who blames her problems on the man who provided said trust fund. Eh, we'll buy it. Money can't solve everything.

On the flip side, she's just doing what her father did and admitting fault. She certainly has a right to be mad, from what it sounds like she went through as a kid.

Still, blaming her cheating on Derek on her dad? That's a bit of a stretch. Then saying he's not family, because the people she works with are. Yikes, that's harsh.

It also paints her kiss with Sam last week in a new light. Maybe she does consider him family. In any case, this Captain story is far from over, and we're intrigued.

Addison and her father aren't exactly on the best terms.

Dude, you're getting a Dell: This is true if your name is Betsey ... or Heather! That's right, Dell's back, and married. To Heather. Everyone understandable tweeks.

Violet and Naomi stage an intervention, but Dell's not having it. He says he loves Betsey, but he got married because of Heather alone, not just for their daughter.

Oh, Dell. You and your relentless idealism may be naive at times, but you're a breath of fresh air on this show and TV. If only Chris Lowell had a bigger role on PP!

He won't back down: The focal point of the episode, without question, is Cooper, who stands his ground when Evan's mom shows up demanding to know where he is.

Cooper ends up in jail, but he ain't talking. Talk about steadfast dedication to his patient. This ties into ongoing personal drama with Charlotte and their non-wedding.

Again, Coop says he's in the right when Addison sells him out protect him and the practice, as he tells her it's not the same just because they protected what they love.

In Addison's defense, she did end up saving the kid and clearing a wrongly-accused man. But does that mean Coop was in the wrong? Team Addy or Team Cooper?

The extra mile: Pete suggests Addison deliver a baby six weeks early so an ailing father can meet her, and the mother can one day say her dad held and loved her.

Addison won't until Pete plays the Lucas card. Pretty low, but it definitely worked - and everybody won in the end. We'd have gone for it too, who are we kidding!

General Hospital Spoilers: November 23-25

Parks and Recreation Review: "Hunting Trip"

Last night during "Hunting Trip", Leslie Knope proved what she's set out to do throughout Parks and Recreation: she's just one of the guys. When Ron tried to have his annual hunting trip with just the guys, Leslie decided to tag along.

One of the things we like about Parks is that despite its mockumentary roots and obvious parallels to The Office, they actually allow their cast, and in particular, Leslie to have moments of competence. In this case, she's actually an excellent hunter.

Despite Leslie being able to just use her ability to hunt Ron, she decides to take the fall for Tom when he accidentally shoots Ron. In the end, however, it proved more of her worth to Ron than anything else she could have done.

All in all we thought this episode had some great lines and we loved seeing the new potentially odd couple of April and Andy flirting. Not the best, but certainly one of the strong of the season.
